Over the last year, the Supported Employment Recovery Fund administered by Inclusion BC has illuminated the path toward enhanced employment services, L.I.F.E.-based support, and community inclusion programs. Through the strategic allocation of resources and support, this initiative has sparked positive transformations, which is evident in its outcomes.

The Fund has extended financial assistance to 70 CLBC-funded contracts in it’s third phase, enabling service providers to deliver personalized guidance to job seekers with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The direct impact on job seekers is undeniable. With 44 reports for this funding period received so far, 393 people received support through the Fund’s programs with 140 people having successfully found employment.

These achievements highlight the importance of continued investment in programs that uplift people. By offering targeted support and resources, organizations can dismantle systemic barriers to employment for greater economic stability and social inclusion for everyone.

Funding was also provided to the Community Living British Columbia Beyond Collaboration: Employment & L.I.F.E. Summit, gathering stakeholders from across British Columbia to facilitate networking and the learning of best practices for supporting the development of truly inclusive communities.

The impact of this collaboration extends far beyond a single event. The insights shared and connections made at the summit inspires ongoing efforts to support people with disabilities in the workplace and community, paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
