Climate Resilience

With support from SPARC BC, we met directly with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and the organizations that walk alongside them. They shared their stories and experiences during climate-related emergencies. They shared what worked, what didn’t and what was missing. Together, we explored the kinds of information and support people need to stay safe and connected, and how communities can ensure that climate emergency planning truly includes everyone.

Our approach to advocacy is guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities, which recognizes the full citizenship and human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Kerridan Dougan, Advocate

Support Our Work, Empower Everyone.

Together, we can break down barriers and create an inclusive world for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
