Letters to Candidates of the 2024 BC Election

Inclusion BC believes in every person’s right to live a dignified life with access to needed support and services. To improve the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, elected officials must support the meaningful inclusion of all citizens in our province.

For the past several election cycles, Inclusion BC has reached out to all the provincial parties before the election to provide information and find out what their position is on certain topics.

Here you will find the document we sent to each party with questions about their position on issues affecting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Our areas of focus include:

• Access to Health Care for Adults

• Access to Health Care for Children and Youth

• Mental Health

• Income Security and Housing for Adults

• Income Security for Families

• Supports and Services for Children and Youth

Make sure to check back in October where we will report back with the answers that we receive from candidates.

Our approach to advocacy is guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities, which recognizes the full citizenship and human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Kerridan Dougan, Advocate

Support Our Work, Empower Everyone.
