Conversations in Richmond

Exciting news! The final engagement report for Richmond is available!

The report is entitled Community, Conversation and Connection: Richmond. It reflects the hopes, dreams and aspirations of local families, young people and community service providers seeking a better network of services and supports for children and youth with disabilities in their communities.

We are grateful to our local partners Aspire Richmond, BC Centre for Ability, City of Richmond, Developmental Disabilities Association, Family Support Institute of BC, The PACE Program, Touchstone Family Association and Richmond School District no. 38. Together, we designed a thoughtful, community-centred, inclusive, culturally safe, and accessible approach to engagement.

By January 2025, we’ll have shared reports from 23 B.C. communities, with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). Our hope is that these reports:

  • Serve as a catalyst for change empowering communities across B.C. to enhance local networks of support for children and youth with disabilities or support needs.
  • Inform the transformation of Children and Youth with Support Needs (CYSN) services in B.C.
