To highlight National Inclusion Education Month and to bring attention to the many positive examples of classrooms and schools across the country, the Canadian Association of Community Living (CACL) created a national certificate of recognition to be bestowed upon recipients who have made positive contributions to inclusive education in their province or territory. This year there are two recipients who will be honoured from the Canadian Association for Community Living and Inclusion BC.
Congratulations to the 2016 Award Winners!
Laura Mackenzie, Education Assistant at Harry Hooge Elementary School in Maple Ridge has been awarded for her advocacy work in ensuring that educators and support staff recognize the benefits of inclusion for all students.
Kathleen Campbell, Resource Support Teacher at McNair Secondary School in Richmond, BC has been awarded for her leadership work in promoting inclusive learning while fostering an atmosphere of belonging for all learners.

February offers and opportunity for people across the country to highlight the benefit of inclusive education and increase awareness of its may positive out comes. Inclusion BC invites families, self advocates and all our member associations to do whatever you can to raise the issue of inclusive education in your community.
