Labour Market Facilitator - Ready, Willing and Able

(Term position until June 30, 2018)

Inclusion BC is seeking a dynamic individual to support the delivery of the Ready, Willing and Able (RWA) employment strategy. http://readywillingable.ca/

Co-delivered in the province with the Pacific Autism Family Centre, the primary role of the Labour Market Facilitator is to support existing National Employer partners and facilitate the recruitment of talent (with an intellectual disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder) to meet their open labour market demand. This will be achieved by establishing relationships with hiring managers, identifying relevant employment demand, and sourcing talent to meet that demand via RWA’s network of employment service partners. This work focuses on the “demand side” of employment development to expand open-labour market opportunities for job seekers with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Working within a team, the Labour Market Facilitator will:

  • Steward existing relationships with National Employer Partners to support their continued expansion of inclusive hiring;
  • Manage opportunities with National employers that align with job seekers sourced through, and supported by our employment service partners;
  • Facilitate the “recruitment pipeline” of inclusive candidates to meet the employment demand generated through Ready, Willing & Able;
  • Enhance employer confidence and capacity to hire and support an inclusive workforce.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to the full inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder, including the right to full employment and economic participation;
  • Understanding of how people with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder find and sustain real work in the community and issues and barriers faced in securing employment;
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Superior teamwork skills;
  • Travel within the province, as and when required;

Considered an asset:

  • Knowledge of Human Resource Management processes;
  • Awareness of provincial labour market issues and trends;
  • Experience using Client Relationship Management tools;
  • Valid Driver License and access to reliable transportation.
