Executive Director

Inclusion BC is currently seeking an experienced Executive Director to provide leadership to our organization and to assist in the ongoing stewardship of the community living movement. We are seeking an inspired leader with a passion for the community living movement, our mission, and for social justice.
 
The Executive Director is responsible for:
  • Organizational oversight
  • Building and maintaining strong community partnerships
  • Organizational financial sustainability
  • Working in collaboration with the Board of Inclusion BC, the Board of Inclusion
  • BC Foundation, and staff team to carry out the mission and strategic objectives
  • of the organization
The ideal candidate will:
  • have a proven track record of success in the non-profit sector;
  • have a history in community living;
  • have extensive knowledge of various and related BC and Federal Ministries and Government agencies; and,
  • be an experienced spokesperson with excellent communication skills.
We are looking for someone who is dedicated to building the relationships necessary to effectively advocate on both broad and systemic levels as well as at an individual level. We are looking for someone who understands the fundamental role of community development in creating social change. Knowledge of the current community and provincial challenges and opportunities relating to the achievement of the mission of the organization are central to this position. The ideal candidate will have proven program, human resource, and financial management experience.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least five years in a senior management role within the not for profit sector
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • An understanding and commitment to the principles of inclusion
  • Knowledge of current challenges and opportunities for our movement
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills and experience in networking and building community partnerships
  • Proven program, human resource and financial management experience
  • Proven track records in fund development and grant writing
  • Knowledgeable of all Provincial and Federal laws that are applicable to non-profit and charitable organizations
  • Excellent communicator
  • Driver’s license
Note: Travel is required for this position.
