ADHD Advocacy Society of BC

ADHD Advocacy Society of BC was created in 2022 by three ADHD self-advocates who connected through the Facebook group “ADHD Parent Neurodivergent Support – British Columbia (BC) Canada”.

Within this Facebook group of 5000+ members, similar stories were regularly shared about the lack of support services in BC schools and communities for children

and youth with ADHD. It became clear that ADHD is not recognized as a very serious disability that can have long term negative ramifications and costs, not only for the individual but for society in general.

Hearing the stories of continued failure to support individuals with ADHD, it became clear that there are many broken parts of the system that need to be rectified for the ADHD community.
